Hey everybody!

It's been years since I've attempted any duct tape purses, and I'm super happy with how these came out. They're made almost entirely of duct tape (layers and layers and layers of duct tape) rather than duct tape on cardboard or some other combination that I've messed around with before.  They hold their shape, but aren't all stiff and cumbersome. So I'm pleased. What do you all think?

They're also decorated with comic book covers, one of Harley Quinn (The Joker's super hilarious side kick) and a cover of a 1981 comic book adaptation of the Empire Strikes Back! That was a total awesome find. A friend of mine, who is a huge Star Wars fan, came by and INSISTED she buy the Star Wars bag from me right then and carried it that night. I was proud. Smiley

They both snap shut, and have one pocket on the inside to hold a cell phone or something like that.

Hopefully going to go pick up some new supplies tonight to make a few more. Yay!

These are really cute!  I love the look of the bold colors with the comic book pages.  Have a tip for you too, where I live the colored duct tape is more expensive than the original grey, so if this is the case where you live, you could build your bag with the grey, and then just use the colored duct tape on the outside layer where it will actually show.  I tell you this because I want to see a lot more of these, they're super cute!
You better call it Coulson, cause I'm starting to root for this guy.

I think they are totally stellar! I love how you mentioned you didnt use cardboard, which is what always turned me off from making another duct tape purse, it was just too stiff. So you have proven that it is not entirely necessary! Thanks for posting your projects and keep up the great work!  Cheesy

Awww....thanks everybody! I am wicked proud of them. I can't wait to make some more! I definitely want to do some with more colors beyond red and black, possibly some blue, turquoise, purple.

@roccstarr75:  Excellent tip!!! I had actually done that before, years ago, and totally forgotten. I will have to try it again since, yeah, the colored duct tape is pretty pricey roll-by-roll. You can find 60 yard spools of red and black at Home Depot, but the prettier colors only come in 20 yd (at least as far as finding it in stores).

Also, no tutorial for now because I do sell these (and am trying to get by on freelancing and crafting...eek) but I may do one in the future. Smiley
