The house charms can be stitch markers for knitting.

Just a little commentary on the crafting process.

While waiting for partners, I found the wooden box and thought,"this could be a monster book of monsters." When I opened it up and saw the split compartments I thought maybe atc's could fit. I tried one and noticed the left side was abit small. Then I thought of inchies and decided to put dividers in. They fit perfectly. Then I realized it would take someone special to truley appreciate this. I decided to make it and somehow swap it with audio, even if we didn't get partners. From the cover, to the lid lining, to the ATC's it has a magical creatures theme.

I have been wanting to try fingerless gloves for myself. After Audio said she wanted something with the darkmark, I decided cuffs with the dark mark on the left forearm would be fitting. My coworkers didn't really get the whole fingerless gloves thing, but I had a feeling audio would. I did have trouble counting stitches so the right is a smidge larger. I thought about redoing it, but I lost the yarn.

I am trying to get better with stamp carving. The star gazing dragon, I made for my son awhile back, but I thought I would toss in a few images of it too. The stamp with Dumbledore and Harry was my favorite. I had a hard time parting with it. I might make one for myself. As for the cards, my favorite was the red dark mark card. I tried to give it texture.

I had this image of "the astronomer," by Vermeer that I had been saving as an ATC for Audio. When she asked for an Astronomy journal, I decided to make it larger and make it into a journal.
It needs more constellations on the inside, but that is up to audio.

I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. Bluesiteralex's partner should receive soon as well. She sent the same time as I did, and they went to the same state.

I'm afraid if I try to duplicate it, I wont come out as well. It was alot easier than the crest though. I can't wait to see what you do with yours.

Alex asked that I post pics of what she sent to slysevsteph.

She started with a bag and a shopping list for various stores from Diagon Alley. I can't remember all the stores right now.

a painted slytherin crest

a wooden box

and inside

another magic yarn ball

and the Belletrix t-shirt

Alex learned alot of new things, with a little help. It was the first time I made a stencil from a picture. Her yarn ball had similar charms. Instead of Draco, she had a broom stick and a lollypop. Her Snape also had a wand. Something I had not thouht of. She wet felted the snitch and needle felted the wings on. The bag was hand painted, the tshirt stenciled. You probably noticed I stole the dark mark stencil for my swap package.
