I live in an apartment (although that may be an overstatement) and it comes with really ugly curtains, the kind on a pully system. I dig the pully part of them but the actual curtain is heinous. It's a dingy offwhite with random threads of brown that just make it look dirtier. I have no idea how to make these look good.

Unfortunately the only place we have to put our desks is right against the window. I'm kinda at a loss. The rest of the room I have figured out but this is stumping me.

needless to say, the apartment isn't clean right now. It's getting closer though.

what if you just safety-pinned (invisibly, having folded over to the other side at the top) some pretty sheets right over the curtains?
our living room curtain is a big old sheet (in an olive/other greens patchwork print, that looks more like a curtain than a sheet) that i got at goodwill like 2 yrs ago and has been up ever since.

creative criticism always appreciated!
