:)Hi everybody. I found this site last night and have enjoyed reading comments. I live by the sea, about half an hour from Totnes. Totnes have a couple of very exciting fabric shops, but are very expensive. One in particular stocks pretty much all silk and if you want to spend 10.00 a metre. There is another one which is more hit and miss which to be honest is much more interesting and in my price range.

I am very interested in whats happening here with the networking concept. Can I help? I teach Art/ Textiles  from GCSE to Degree level. I make bags and wall hangings and an frantically making at the moment. I have one bag on ebay at the moment under beautiful handmade bag - 8 days to go. This is to test the water.

Let me know what you think?

hi- i'm in Bristol, which i guess is about and hour and a half away? I was down in Totnes last summer and was pretty impressed by the crafty/fabric shops there- I picked up some great remnants at a fabric shop there.
Um...it's late and my brain's not working very well but I just wanted to say hello!

Great to hear from you. I go to Bristol every year to the Ashton Court Free Festival. Do you ever go? We went recently and did some serious shopping. Great place to go. I was on here until about 1.30 last night. It is very addictive and I have left a thread on the handbag section. so what kind of crafty thing are you into? I make fabrics and make them into handbags. This all with a view to open me own shop online. i do do other things - but this is whats got me at the moment.

I'm around Exeter way, myself.

I'm doing a lot of bags at the moment, as I am a bag-addict. I must admit to owning a lot of bags!

Just thought I'd drop in to say hi.

I'm in berkshire, which is in the south...
And the hobbycraft in reading is the best place I've found for cheap-ish supplies, its less expensive than john lewis at any rate
