bag_lady, that is one stunning tattoo. The photo is beautiful and is doesn't make you look fat - you have a perfect hip to waist ratio going on there!

I myself don't have a tattoo but might consider it one day if something strikes me as right. The permanence side of it scares me a little (like to keep things flexible) but then again I seem to have an unusually high pain threshold, so it would be a shame not to exploit it! Smiley

Lovely ideas as great advice going on in this thread...definitely got me thinking....

So far, I only have a kanji character for "passion" on my right shoulder blade, and an "E" on my right hip that I'm going to get covered... someday, I hope to have most if not all of these...

1) same thing and same place as http://www.vanishingtattoo.com/tattoo/celeb-hudson.htm
2) down the side of my thigh http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v364/Emiling/fallingleavesidea.jpg
3)haven't decided exactly where yet, but maybe on my arm or inside of my wrist http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v364/Emiling/thisisthemusical.jpg
4) on my inner hip/groin-ish area http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v364/Emiling/kittykat.jpg
5) again, not sure where yet, but maybe back of my neck http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v364/Emiling/MYLEO.jpg

Um, no offense, but if your asking us for a good idea for a tattoo, you probably shouldnt be getting one in the first place.  Tattoos are permanent, and if you havent had your heart set on a design, you probably wouldnt like what people suggested to get there in a year or so.

I agree with vanessa. If you aren't sure you want something wait. Most likely you'll hate it after a while. Anyhoo, still on the lookout for japanese style waves.

If I ever got a tattoo, it would be a mermaid of some kind. I've loved mermaids since I was three- ever since I saw my very first silverscreen flick "The Little Mermaid". They would look something like these...

I'm Greek-Macedonian and I wanted to get a tattoo of something that I could never change about me and that way I wouldn't regret getting a tattoo of something meaningless in 20, 30 years. So I plan on getting a flag on my lower back, half the Maci flag the other half the Greek flag on my 18th birthday Smiley.

Oh, please. I've had this one planned out since I was eleven. The day I turn eighteen, and whether my mother likes it or not, I am going to go get the Dark Mark tattooed on my forearm.

Pink Mafia, I only read a few pages back and couldn't see anything from you about the waves, but are you looking for waves like these ones: http://mexplaza.udg.mx/wm/paint/auth/hokusai/great-wave.jpg
