It's a shame that the Nazis ruined an ancient Eastern sacred symbol

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastica

Not a whole lot of people know that the Swastica has peaceful origins

I know it doesn't really fit the pattern but at first quick glance that's what I thought it was.  Just something to consider.

No offense intended but, to my eye, those three 7s in a circle look vaguely swastika-ish.   Undecided
Totally see what you're saying here.
And YES it was a sacred symbol before, but you cannot deny it's negative connotations in this society.

I think once herself or her artist adds on the embellishment she was thinking about, it will look like it's own symbol. It'll be fine.

I did the three sevens drawing and no offense taken whatsoever!

I almost didn't post it because it was such a crude drawing but I have come to realize in my old age  Wink that if I don't get an idea out of my head when it's in there, it may end up getting lost forever in the sea of ideas that is my brain.

LOL

My time was limited so I didn't get to play with it.  Plus, it gives the tattoo-er and tattoo-ee a chance to put their own spin on a concept.

Anybody wanna play with the design and re-post it?

Yeah, maybe if the 7s were in a fancy/funky font it would draw more attention to the numbers themselves... wish I had the skillz to offer an example!

Ok, here's my try at it. I didn't change much, as I'm at work right now. I'll try later on at home.

Other options might be getting a tattoo of seven "Jesus" fish, in a circle as an anklet, or seven fish making up the shape of a 7. I don't know, the possibilities are endless.

The sevens actually remind me of a triskele, which is what the isle of man flag is basically.

I have a tattoo of a triskele that's more stylized than this...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Triskele-Symbol-spiral-five-thirds-turns.svg

According to wikipedia, the Nazi's used this symbol too.. Damn them!

And not to throw a wrench in the seven idea but apparently a South African white supremacist paramilitary group uses a circular pattern of 7's as their symbol. I'd hate for you to get the tattoo and then learn this...

Maybe you could just name your first child seven, a la George from Seinfeld.  Grin

ps My boyfriends birthday is 7/7, we're going to have to have a rocking party.
