Three things:
1-I LOVE vintage patterns! Is this a re-issue or did you buy it used?
2-The fabric is so pretty!
3-YAY theatre arts! Are you a costumer, like me?

The pattern is a re-issue. Vogue's re-issues tend to be pretty simplified and a little dull, but I was rather fond of this one, and it saved me tons of time.
Yeah, I've now got a degree in costume design. Next step is taking more construction classes before I try grad school. I'm more of an artist than an artisan.

That is stunning and gorgeous in every possible way. I am just sitting here, dripping with envy. Seriously. The color is amazing on you, and the closeups of the fabric... wow. I couldn't imagine a cuter dress than the pattern drawing, but I really love the change you made on the skirt.
Can I bother you for the pattern number? I just love the bodice and could use some more super poufy skirted dresses in my wardrobe...

The pattern is a re-issue, and thus readily available at most fabric stores: V1044, from the Vintage Vogue" line. Most of the Vintage Vogue patterns are 1950s, poofy skirt designs.

It looks gorgeous! I dress all 40s-50s, and circle skirts are great! If you don't want it to be dramatic, just don't wear a crinoline. Wink

I loved your dress... the color, the fabric... and you did right changing the skirt, it looks more modern.
Very well done!!!
