Haha, thank you!  The checkerboard was made with black strips woven through the cranberry colored fabric, which I'd cut into fringe at the bottom.  I used the sewable kind of heat-n-bond on both so I could iron them together before sewing.  And the stars are cut out with the black behind.  I guess that's reverse-applique?  I just thought it'd add a fun dimension to it.  Smiley

So credit goes to... shucks, I don't remember who right now, but whoever did the beautiful woven wavy blue and white checkerboard with butterflies for Lmcbride.  Smiley

Unfortunately the way I folded the quilt to ship it makes it look not-rectangular Wink, but it was - except for the corners.  Tongue  The top and bottom and sides were all actually straight, which I impressed myself with.  Tongue  I'm not the greatest at doing things straight.

And I love that zombie quilt!  Ahhh!  So awesome!

Edit: it was shout4joy!  The woven idea came from her.  Smiley  It worked really well, thank you for the tips and the idea!

Thanks, ladies! It was really a challenge for me to complete this quilt. I questioned every single step and tried two or three different ways to do everything. I'm crazy proud of it!

I dream of a house covered with your art, and would love a personal swap. Pm me if you'd like to spread the crafty love! I also need blue fabric scraps for a scrap quilt!

I received from my wonderful partner seamlessgem she went with my organic/fluid shapes. I wish you could see it in person it's absolutely stunning the contrast between the crazy quilting and the organic fluidity of the black swirls, and the beautiful textures and variations in colors here.  She amply named it "HeadSpin".

I put additional photos on my blog http://aprilsjunk.com/?p=279 (I think there are 7 of them there)  but a few are shown below as well.  Thank you so much gem!

Grin Phew! I'm really glad it got there(It's a long way from Scotland and I always fret that my carefully crafted goodies will go astray) and really really happy that you like it.
Now I can relax and get properly excited waiting for my parcel to arrive. Grin
