Hello all.

I whipped this up today. I forgot to take a before picture of the dress, but it had a strange top that didn't work with any bra I owned and made my boobs look weird.

So I let it sit in my project bin for a year and finally decided to just cut the darn top off. What remains in purple is the shirt portion. It was super easy to just add a fabric tie in pink and then some straps.

Here it is. Please note I'm wearing leggings in the photo, you just can't see them very well.

I haven't sewn the straps on yet (or ironed it, as you may have guessed). I'm wondering if they seem to thick or if they're fine the way they are. Please let me know what you think, and any other comments you might have.

I'd really recommend projects like this for beginners virtually no sewing is required, and the hardest part is turning in the seams on the fabric tubes making the tie/straps.

Thanks for looking!

I think the straps look great as they are. The thickness fits with the rest of the top. Very cute Smiley

Very cute.  I love tops like that.  So flattering and comfy.

It's great that you have something wearable and cute now! I agree with others, the straps balance the waist tie plus they'll cover up bra straps. Good job!
