I had made some dandelion flower infused oil a month or so ago and finally decided to use it in a salve. It smells absolutely wonderful.

As soon as the plantains in my backyard grow I'm planning to make a salve out of them as well. Cheesy

Thanks. Well, when I was infusing the oil it smelled a bit too sweet and very strong, but in combination with lavender they smell quite nice... sort of reminds me of honeysuckle.

Gawd I wish I knew they smelled nice; we had an entire *farm* of them in our yard! Sadly, they were no match for the Round-Up. Grin

That sounds *really* neat, and I love your front label, did you do the lettering yourself? Love it!

Very cool! Does the dandelion have any healing/soothing benefits or is it for the smell? I like the labels, very pretty! I've always wondered about dandelion wine...  Smiley

Yes I did -- thanks.  Cheesy We used to have quite a ton of dandelions as well, now they've been replaced by roses and honeysuckle... I'm certainly not complaining though!
Well, I've read that it can be quite good for any breast lumps and muscle knots, though I've yet to try it out for that purpose.
Making dandelion wine is one of those things that I keep meaning to do every year, but never get to it. Sad

This sounds very interesting!  May have to try something similar.
I will not let my bf use any chemicals on our yard.  He really wants to kill off the dandelions but I like them.  Plus I was just reading Hobby Farms Home magazine and they have a recipe for dandelion fritters.  I'm going to give it a go and see how they taste.

Ooh, sounds wonderful.  That looks like such a nice salve, an I bet it smells lovely!  I LOVE dandelions!  I used to go and find all the dandelion seed heads and blow then, so that we'd have a back yard full of sunny flowers (much to my parents' dismay!).  I may "borrow" your idea, someday.  One word of advice, though, to everyone thinking about making body products or food/ wine out of dandelion:  Make Sure you harvest the flowers from an area that hasn't been treated with nasty weed killers!
