I've haven't contributed to fiber friday for ages but now I have two new yarns to show you:

it's merino and the fiber was a birthday present from a friend, she bought it on holiday in Denmark
it's 105m/58g

and the next one is from a lovely roving bought from cloudlover on etsy:

Pidgeons, BFL and 203m/140g

I look forward to fiber friday all week!

I have been doing a crazy amount of dying this week. A little spinning but mostly dying. So here is my stuff.

OK this is some hand painted wool from Wooly Hands on Etsy. I forget what its called but I love it.

This was done with Kool Aid Tangerine, no name yet

This was done with 1 packet of cherry and one of orange so I am calling it Blood orange.

This is Yellow food dye and Watermelon Kool aid and I am calling it Banana Sandwich. I came up with the name before I dyed it but it really looks like it so it worked out.

This is stuff I actually dyed a couple of weeks ago and just started spinning this week. Its also Kool aid, Its cherry and Berry Blue. I was so in love with it I wanted to dye more but my brother got into my kool aid stash and killed my Blue berry. Its called Candy Apple. My mom named it.

OK, my family has been complaining about this one all week. "Its so ugly, its gross, it looks like puke!" I think it looks like egg plant so I named it Egg Plant. Personally I love it and I cannot wait to see what it looks like all spun up.

Yup thats all I got this week. Hope you like.  Smiley

Happy Fiber Friday! Some serious eye-candy this week! I love everything!

I've got a few offerings today as I've just got my first wheel so have been practicing and practicing every spare moment I get! First off, some naturally dyed handspun:

Nettle - Wensleydale wool dyed with nettles:

Madder - Whitefaced Woodland wool dyed with madder root

Onion - Shetland wool dyed with onion skins (spindle-spun)

Finally, I also spun a merino-silk blend 'Aqaurius':

Yummy yarns! I'm loving the natural dyed stuff kittyboo. I've been following your blog because I love the one dyed with nettles. The blue is gorgeous.

You guys need to come join the handspun yarn & fiber swap!!!!!

I'm also loving blue kite/grey sky. Very nice!

So many lovely yarns this week!

It's been ages since I've posted here. I ran out of roving a while ago, and I haven't been able to buy anymore. However, when I spied a pound of lovely gray wool at the farmers market a couple of weekends ago, I decided to forgo a few groceries to get my fiber fix.

I filled two bobbins and then plied them together. I think it's time to invest in a jumbo flyer:

The yarn got so stuck on the flyer that my rear end is actually sore from the effort of stomping on the treadles. But it was fun!

I have fiber envy right now! I haven't spun anything lately... just been dying like nobodys business. Here's the most recent:

The orange and green remind me of a pumpkin patch.

The pink blue and green remind me of the ocean for some reason, I dunno. =]

They are all very pretty colors!
