Hi all,

I'm so happy with this latest project because I sewed these sweet shoes out of some horrendously ugly 1980's suede pants from the thrift store. I should have taken pics of the awful pants before I cut them apart, but imagine a really high waist and back pockets that were way higher than they should have been. I can imagine the oversized Bill Cosby sweater, mall hair, and green mascara that likely rounded out the ensemble.

Anyhow, I got the suede pants for 99 cents, specifically for cutting them apart. I used the free DD minimoc pattern , and lined the insoles with felted lambswool from a never-worn (tags still attached) Ralph Lauren sweater, also from the thrift store. Altogether I'd say these shoes cost me about $1.50 in materials. Not bad!!

Here's a link to the awesome pattern: http://darlingdiapers.com/SDminimocfinal2.PDF
