This is a dress I started last summer. The top came out all wrong and it sat in a box until today.
The top is still a little messed up but at least I could do something with it.

My dress form doesn't fill the top out the way I do.
The issue with the top is that when I am wearing it... in the middle where the two breast peices meet.. it is loose.
Any suggestions on how I can fix it?
I don't have the funky thing going on in the very top like it the pic when wearing it.

I thought of adding a non functional button to the center..?

The back:

It ties around the neck and in the back.

The dress has been hemmed and topstitched since these pics were taken.
I love it and hope to get the center of bust figured out. I am so happy I could make it work. I thought it was hopeless Undecided

Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions.. I would love to hear  Grin

that's such a pretty dress Smiley I'm thinking for the middle maybe a tiny velcro dot near the top? you probably won't even be able to tell it's there... either that or you might have to undo the top bit and gather it a bit more to make it tighter (is the top bit a little loose or is it just the middle?)

Thank You =)

Ah! I just read through my post and it sounds very confusing  Embarrassed

Like where the middle of the boobs would be. It's just loose like 2 inches across the middle. It sticks out..has nothing to lay against Roll Eyes

I hope that's not even more confusing  Undecided

I'm also thinking about adding some lace to the top so if it was something that would need to be covered up...That could sway my decision.

Just the right button sewn on through both layers to hold them in place.
A nice trinket would work as well.
An applique.
A small rose or flower made of fabric and or lace and ribbon that nicely matches the dress and the trim.
Or if you don't want a decoration there you could simply secure the two sides together permanently where they overlap by sewing them.

The possibilities are many I'd say.

It's beautiful!

Thank you for all of the suggestions. I think I may just sew it and maybe add soemthign to it later. I looked through what I have and nothing caught my eye for it.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments Grin

It's a cotton blend. There is no stretch to it at all but it does fray a lot.

Thanks for looking Grin
