Made all by myself, no pattern or anything. Just a vision that came to life! I started this the month before prom and finished the week before. Unfortunately I have no good detail shots.
Here's a pattern shot, just because I was so amused at how architectural it was.

It was cool because I had the hardest time finding a red diamondy necklace, and I know someone who makes jewelry for a living and she whipped something up for me. So I was pretty much the coolest chick at the dance  Cool
I'm bummed though, I wanted to enter the Joann Fabrics prom dress contest, but I cannot for the life of me find my receipts.

Whatcha think?

GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is one fantastic dress! I love to see when ppl make their own dresses, SO much better than the mass produced dresses out there! I only wish I was as crafty as I am now when I was in high school so I would have thought of making my own dress! But at least I got mine at thrift stores Hee hee

Really great and the whole thing came together wonderfully including your jewelry, hair, makeup, shoes. Fantastic!

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.

I love your dress.

I agree, I work in bridal wear and we also do bridesmaids and prom dresses and it does get a bit boring after a while. There's certainly nothing like your dress in our collections.

I love the vintage look that you created (hair, make up accessories) I am sure you rocked the prom. I hope you won best dress or so. I would have voted for you over any big poofy dress.

that prom [or proom? Tongue] dress is absolutely beautiful.

i dont think you could have found a more stunning dress if you had tried.

and the fact that you did it without a commercial pattern, in less than a month!!

Love the design!  There's nothing like the custom fit you get when you make your own pattern.  I'll bet you and your date were the most coordinated couple there.
