Hi all!
So my childrens school had their mothers day stall today and it really needs an overhaul!  Show me any mum who wants a coffee cup with a tea bag in it *groan* So I'm thinking of making an early start with craftiness, so next year it'll be full of amazing gifts yay!

The only thing is the gifts need to be really cheaply made. The pressies only go up to 5 dollars Australian, with more focus on the two dollar present and there needs to be some profit made.  Anyone have some brilliant ideas?

Hmmm, food's always welcome i think - especially if you make it in really large batches, it should be pretty cheap and would give you some form of profit. Bookmarks for mums who like to read - either the paper kind or the flat metal type would work Smiley

simple earrings will probably work as well - they're pretty inexpensive to make, and you can charge up to 5 bucks for them since not everyone knows how to make jewelry just by looking at it. Potted plants? Seed packs where you have a variety of spring/summer flowers?

Hope these ideas helped, and good luck next year Smiley

Thanks guys, I hadn't thought of the earrings or the melt and pour soaps, so that will give me something to look into :-)

Paint a clay pot or other container with chilies or tomatoes and then plant a miniature variety in the pot for mom to enjoy.

You could have the seedlings started a few weeks earlier and just use stencils for the pots. For that matter, you could even use large tin cans and paint them bright colors.

I think its a great idea to put a seedling in a tin can.  You could have her class save their cans (from veggies and such) and then just spray paint them.  It would be super cheap and really cute.

I would love to do a swap!

Thanks, I love the plant idea too! I might go for a succulent even, in a can I think that would be cool.  If I start them really early, I could do lots from cuttings, meaning more profit  Grin
