I dyed my hair black with Nice n'Easy for about three years as well... and nothing could get rid of that black. I had to just let it grow out. You might want to go to a professional for something like this.

For about a year I bleached and dyed my roots red or pink to look cool with the black growing out--the bleach didn't affect the black part of my hair at all. I've finally just managed to cut off all the black. Here is a timeline of "getting rid of my black hair":

I had to let my hair fade....once it turn brown it was a little more easy to dye......however i have med. brown hair at the moment......and when i tryed to dye it blonde...it didnt change at all......therefore...for my bday i am asking for a certificate to go to a salon.......cuz im tired of being burnette...and want to return to my natural color......without the roots.

~did i die in beauty~with a smile on my face~i was thinking of the beginning~when our love was real~but if there is a beginning there is always an end~unfourtanatley our end came too soon~we live on but our love is dead~never to return~our fate wasnt love it was death~

a friend of mine has been dyeing her roots red to help rid of the black.

i found that the black/blue hair dye would fade differently then the regular black and i was more able to bleach it out... as well as just add in color all over... it seemed more highlighty then just the regular black fading... worked for me..

Thanks for your replies girls Smiley I think I'll contact the hairdresser, but it depends on if she thinks she can strip the dye or if my hair can cope with that. Alternatively, the dying of the roots is a good idea. Maybe I could use wash in/out chestnut so it's not too ''dramatic'' (I'm currently looking for a job you see Wink)

LetterGhost - how long did it take for your dye to grow out? Your hair is a little longer than mine, so I can use that as a timescale Smiley

so ive been eyeing this thread for quite a while, and im going to get a haircut soon i hope. i lightened my hair witha  homemade thing, dealt with straw on my head for about 2 weeks or so, used a lot of biosilk (mmm biosilk :]) ad now my hair s back to normal. normal meaning, side bangs and a semi straight cut down to my collarbones.
i want to trim my hair and then get layers, but im afraid my hair will poof up. i would get pictures but i dont know how..

oh my squash!

oo lordy, where DO we start?

i am soooo lazy. i end up getting my hair cut about every 6 months, because i can never be bothered to make an appointment (it needs doing now, but i'm holding off to see if i get a job interview, because that'll affect what haircut  get Wink . though my hairdresser told my mum at her appointment that he wants to give me a bob next (!)).
but my hairdresser is a DOLL. Since his favourite hair model went and gave herself dreads, i have been his experiment.

was when he was giving me 'regular' cuts

that and my user-pic is what happened after i said 'you choose - but i wouldn't mind it assymetric'

and that's after the colour.

right now, my colour is pretty much back to normal, the 'short' side is below my ear and the long side below my shoulders.

lupinbunny- I realy like that last one.

I haven't posted here in a while, but what is the general feeling about perms? My mother has consented to pay for one, but I wanted to check to see if there were any words of wisdom regarding perms.
