okay, hold up.
since we highlighted my hair, it's dry and frizzy and even worse than my usual soft stick straight hair.
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK THIS HAIR.
and when i shampoo, the roots of my hair become one HUGE knot and my hair never gets knotted.
we've never highlighted my hair before, only all over color (and bleach and blue) but even after all that stuff, it felt soft!

should i start using conditioner (before, if i used any, it just weighed my hair down and go greasy within the hour)? ugh i don't know whyyyyy.

Huh what's going on?

I'm not sure if this will help, but when I used to highlight my hair, I would put this stuff called Cholesterol (sounds gross, I know) on my hair.  You can probably get it in any hair/beauty store and it should come in a tube.  You just put it on your hair and let it sit for a while. (I'm sure there are better instructions on the package).  As well, if you go into one of these stores and ask a professional, I'm sure they can direct you to a product that will help your hair.  Smiley

I just found this place (look! I don't even have an icon yet, but oh, that will be remedied shortly...) and this thread is perfect, I think, for something I'm considering.

I'm getting new glasses soon and they're more a rectangular style (wire frames, a blue-gray). I currently have waist-length hair, all the same length. I want to get it cut somewhere between shoulder and shoulder-blade length, maybe layered or something. More flattering than it is.

Anyone have suggestions/ideas?

I find conditioning wax works well to reduce frizz. You just use it like conditioner but it's got dimethicone wax in it. Makes your hair easier to brush as well.

haha, i don't even brush my hair.
((everyone says i should do it for my scalp, but brushes give me dandruff so i just massage it in the shower))

hair dye is SUCH an addiction. i've been through so much. Raw purple passion was my first love and therefore i will probably never grow out of it. so far i've done various combinations of this dye, raw true blue, special effects limelight, manic panic ultra violet, random black dyes, and manic panic hot hot pink. i discovered that the green fades pretty quickly to oscar the grouch-ish, the blue also fades to turquoise-ish. raw purple has lasted longest. hot hot pink fades relatively quick, as does manic panic purple (to silver. wtf?). purple + blue + green = FUN DIP, purple + green = THE HULK and purple helps dilute the pinkness of pink. right now my hair is pink with purple on the bottom layer of the bangs and sides and the tips (well, halfway up) in back. i bought sfx naplam orange to do next but i can't do it til after prom (the dress i'm making is purple and black, don't wanna look like halloween.. Smiley)

in case no one's mentioned it yet (i don't feel like reading through 215 pages..) i've found that a really inspirational type website for hair dye is www.haircrazy.info. it always makes me want to go out and spend all my money on dye. *sigh*

here are a few colors i've had  Cool

yeah. i know. a lot of images. hair dye is an addiction, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

okay, this is what i have:

(excuse the stupid smile, generally stupid face pulling, and blurryness - i can't keep my hands still when taking a photo!)

i really want to do something cool with my hair, but it's so thick and so curly....it's just impossible! my hair just makes me want to cry Cry

any suggestions anyone? (cuts or styles) please? what can i do?

Your hair looks a lot like mine did when it was long.  To control it, I got a REALLY good straightener, and cut it a little above my shoulders and got side bangs.  With a little gel, it looks really cute curly, but I prefer to straighten it.  I dont know if you'd like that short, but thats my opinion.  =)
