My parents got me an Ashford Elizabeth spinning wheel for my birthday, Its from an antique shop and was a little beat up, but my dad restored it to almost perfect condition.  but I'm having some trouble getting it to work right. I've been studying all week on how to spin, and as far as my knowledge I'm doing everything right. But there seems to be a problem with getting the spun yarn onto the bobbin. I just don't know if there is still something wrong with the wheel, or if I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks for the help!

The Elizabeth 2 is a double drive wheel.  See Ashford's Assembly guide

It's possible that the original Elizabeth had a scotch tension.  See the  (Ashford Traditional for an example of that.

The adjustment to wind the yarn on the bobbin is different for both.  Do you know if you have a Double Drive tension or Scotch tension on your Elizabeth?

A picture of the Mother of All or even the bobbin will help me help you!
