for easter, i made my sister a granny square bag using this (http://www.sugarncream.com/pattern.php?PID=1133) pattern.

it only took me about a day and a half to make and overall, it was pretty easy. however, sewing it all together in a mad dash to finish it at like one-thirty in the morning on easter was not fun, especially when above mentioned sister woke me up at around six because she wanted to see what the easter bunny brought...

anyhow, i just used leftover cotton yarn that i found under my desk and my sister really liked it even though somehow the corner began unraveling and i had to figure out a way to make it stop. (that's why there are strings at the top...stupid unraveling.)

here's a close-up of one of the squares:

very cute.  my niece (she's 4) saw the felted bag that i made my mom (her gma) for mother's day and decided that she needed to have one.  so she walks up to me and nonchalantly says "if you wanted to make me one, i wouldn't mind.  and sometimes i like green."  and then she just walks off.  so of course, i'll make her one (will probably use that granny square pattern, too cute).   gotta love making stuff for the kiddos!  Cheesy
