wow! everyone's yarns are so beautiful this week! great job!

I finally have something to contribute this week (it's been awhile Wink  lol)  My design teacher at school asked me to spin the thrums from her machine embroidery project.  This yarn is the result

It is approximately 15yards - 2ply with various cotton (?) threads
I wish I had a picture of the ziploc bag of thrums before I spun them.  Oh well, next time Cheesy

It's Friday already?? I have some kool-aid dyed roving to spin up for next week, but nothing today!

Everyone's yarns are amazing. Jazzturtle, that tencel is GORGEOUS. I haven't spun with it yet, is it difficult to spin?

dollface, that yarn is flippin sweet! I want to experiment more with funkier yarns, thanks for the inspiration!

Hey everyone,
I have had such an awesome Fiber week. I joined a spinning group and it was swap day this week so I was sent home with tons of fiber and a new (used) drop spindle. I also tried kool aid dying which I am totally in love with. So here is what I have to show for it all:

This is the fiber I was sent home with

This is what I am spinning right now. I am not sure what the red is but the black is merino wool. I just wanted to play with the new spindle I bought last week after my puppy chewed up my little one.

This is wool I dyed with food coloring and then mixed in some green/blue fire star. I call it Aqua-Mollie.

This is the stuff I dyed with Kool Aid

I was also giving a huge bag of raw white wool that I get to fix up all myself. I cannot wait. Love everyones stuff, its all so bright!

sweet yarns ladies!!
All I have this week is my second attempt at roving (the first one failed miserably, so its just fluff now)

Alpaca- who knows how much is there, I don't have a scale LOL

Getting there, just not wonderful yet. LOL

Beautiful yarns, as always, this week.  I love drooling over yarn every Friday.

Just one for me this week.  This is some wool/llama/mohair that I spun lace weight.  This is my first lace weight yarn so it's a little thick in spots but I really like it.

Here is my yarn this week.  I had it done by Friday but am only just getting around to posting now.

There is about 150 yards of dk weight, 2 ply, corriedale.

It wants to be mittens.  Right away.

Well, 1 mitten anyway.

Great Mitt!!

I lurve Myrtle !!!  Just lurve it!!

SML, you are progressing so well!!!!!  Way to go Girl!!!

I've been spinning & knitting & crocheting & weaving, but no pics!!

I currently have flax on the wheel.  It's getting to be summer and I want to knit or weave a light weight jacket from hand spun linen.  I'm dry spinning it and it's not as smooth as I like.  I think I need to get a saucer of water out to spin this.
