So I can't post a pattern even if its modified from the original Sad? I'll post the title of the book then.
The flowers are modified from the Large Flat Flower in Hooked on Crochet by Candi Jenson, pg 94. i made the flowers single layered (instead of double) and varied the size by varying the number and height of the stitches, to make flowers of different sizes. I think Pattern 166 in Sasha Kagan's crochet inspiration would also make pretty cherry blossoms.

donniesgirl, I'd love to see your placemats! The idea sounds like it would turn out very pretty Smiley
