I was watching Wizards of Waverly Place (don't make fun of me, I was bored!) lol and there was an episode where they showed the most amazing/bizarre/creative/genius dresses made out of unusual materials (credit cards, balloons, and more) and Selena Gomez wore a dress out of comic books that I fell in love with.  It was just so cool!  Is it possible to recreate it?  Maybe with more durable material, like material with comic book pictures screen printed on or something

I tried looking for the real designer but I couldn't find it

That's the only picture I could find, but it's pretty short (a few inches above the knee) and has a flapper-fringe style

Thank you!

Disney has there own slew of costume designers they use, and they usually make things once for the show or movie or attraction, usually in sets of 3

i would say that if you want it to be totally wearable, you would need to find comic book fabric or make your own with iron on transfers or screen printing (which would be expensive)

if you want it to be wearable ONCE, you could get some comics you like and laminate them in contact paper (cheap, and durable, and sewable)

They sell fabric that you could use and simply make one similar to the one Selena Gomez wore.

I don't know if you have them in your area, but I was at hancock fabrics and they had a big stash of batman fabric on their sales tables.

thats a really cool dress, post pictures if you end up going through with it!

I know they make tons of different comic book inspired fabrics. That dress looks like it was made with paper or a poly covered fabric, but im thinking its closer to paper.
I think if you did pleats youll get the same impact with the layers instead of fringe that might fray.
