I claim Kristen81 for linen items!

This is my 2nd claim, 0 sent, 0 received.

I'm an ABD grad student in art history, 32, living in North Carolina.  I knit, sew, and am new to embroidery.  My aesthetic is very minimal--I try to surround myself with simple, beautiful, natural things.  William Morris said it best:  Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.  I love natural colors and materials, especially organic and sustainable, and various shades of grey, blue, green, and brown (and lovely clear red).

Here's my wishlist.  Thank you!

felted rocks

large fabric bucket like this one or any of the burlap buckets at mayamade
reusable sandwich wraps and snack bags

fabric shower cap

lavender sachets Im making socks for everyone on my Xmas list this year, and Id like to include a lavender sachet with each package.  Neutral colors and modern/ elegant fabrics would be best (think upholstery fabric or IKEA-type designs)

drawstring bags to use for wrapping gift socks.  Big enough to fit a pair of socks.  Neutral colors and modern/ elegant fabrics would be best (think upholstery fabric or IKEA-type designs).  Simple muslin or osanburg cloth with botanical type stencils or stamps would be perfect!

soft embroidered handkerchiefs

dish scrubbies made from recycled plastic bags

lunch bag of felt play food appropriate for a four-year-old girl

seek sack for a four-year-old girl

handspun or hand-dyed yarn

tea towels -- embroidered, embellished, or stenciled

outer space stuffies -- these little robot / space guys
jewelry made of recycled china, fused glass, or stained glass

shawl closure / shawl pin to wear with my handknit sweaters

modern laminated-fabric placemats

hand-thrown green, brown, blue or purple ceramic bowls

hand-woven, -painted, -dyed, -printed, or -stenciled  textiles of any kind

pre-loved is more than fine for these!

wool yarn scraps --  Inspired by mimiw, Im collecting scraps of wool (or other animal fiber) for a scrappy knitting project.  Send me the odds and ends of your projects--handspun scraps work too!  Animal fibers only, and at least 1 yard per scrap, please!

needle-felting kit

dried lavender for making sachets

sock blockers in all sizes (kids, adult S, M, L)

blocking board

embroidery patterns --  Japanese, sublime stitching (especially artists series #7, #5, #3, chinese acrobats, vintage lamps, vital organs), clover (kitchen, animals, garden), wee wonderfuls, anything vintage / modern  (but no cutesy animals, country, or kitsch, please)

pom pom tree -- a type of pom pom maker

vintage nightgown and lingerie patterns, small-medium sizes

OR anything you like to craft that you think fits my taste based on my wishes or wists

Thanks so much!

I claim OneRedBoot for a shawl pin & handspun yarn

This is my first claim this round, list in a minute

I'm in Massachusetts US, I do mostly knit, but I also crochet, spin, and used to cross-stitch, embroider and a little bit of tatting. I like the cooler colors (blues, purples, greens) but a little oomph of the red/orange/yellows doesn't hurt either. Nothing holiday themed please - I like being able to use my things all the time, not just a few weeks a year

My list, in no particular order (links are examples, not requirements  Cheesy )

decorated (and absorbent) kitchen towels, potholders, etc

swirl pendant necklace ala PhoenixFireDesign (3rd pic here)

reusable grocery bags with long handles or a similar size tote bag

expandable shopping bag  examples here and here

a drawsting pouch with pockets

decorated small notecards (about 3"/8cm square)

pretty 'yarn wrapper' band labels - to wrap around skeins of handspun so I know what kind, how many yards, etc

cotton soap sack with handmade soaps

stained glass stitch markers

handmade soaps/gels/scrubs (not for bathtub soaking though, please)

solid-colored brooomstick skirt - or any not-too-tight-to-walk-in skirt -  in dark-ish neutrals (ex- grey, eggplant, pine, black, navy)

cotton 'pettipants' aka a slip that looks like shorts to wear under skirts

lounge-y shorts/pants (~40" waist)

slightly bigger than credit-card-size wristlet with outside pocket for ID badge, this idea

crochet-hook book-style zip-close holder for tall hooks. I have some that are longer than usual so they're are too tall to fit in the other holders I've got. (I think they're about 7" / 18cm long, but I can let you know for sure)

floral fabric covered tacks T

rubik's cube stuffie (this idea)

double-stitch markers or any stitch markers for small needles (US size 3, 3.25mm or smaller)

cloth panty liners

A pretty, but not really lacy, ladies crocheted/knit/sewn/beadedwire/etc kippah in white or black

small totes (about 6"x6", 15cmx15cm) with longish handles - I use them to hold spinning fiber when I use a handspindle

Flex knitting needles (they look like circulars that have been cut in half)

anything to help me improve wire-wrapping beading kind of techniques. I'm self-taught and the teacher doesn't always know what's going on Cheesy

pretty tatting shuttles (shorter than 3"/7.5cm)

Casein Knitting needles

New Pathways for Sockknitters book by Cat Bordhi
Cool Socks, Warm Feet by Lucy Neatby
The Intentional Spinner
Andean Folk Knits by Marcia Lewandowski
(pre-owned books in good condition are just fine with me)

something from, or based on, my wists   (etsy items are tagged on the wists)

your favorite funny book (please no 'funny by being mean/angry/insulting' kind of funny)
1 1/2" (4cm) cotton fabric squares (any color except neon-bright, and no holiday themes please)
'souvenir' bookmarks
Chocolate, plain or with nuts (unless you want me to share with the hubby - he likes the mint & fruit-filled chocolates)
tea, hot chocolate mixes

I will claim ThreadOrYarn for stained glass stitch markers, fabric covered tacks and a small 6 X6 tote(s).

** Swapper Virgin!**
This is my very first swap!  Be gentle with me...!  If I do anything wrong or weird, correct me, would ya?  My biggest pet peeve is looking stoo-pid. =o)
Greetings and Salutations from rural, central Minnesota.  I am a 41 year wife and mother of one (grown up and gone).  I work full time as a headhunter/recruiter...(in this economy and job market I find myself sitting in a very quiet office with not a lot to do these days...*sigh*...lots of people looking, just not a lot of places to put them).
I love to craft and create.  I'm seriously into sewing, quilting, stained glass (!!), mosaics, crocheting, learning to work with beading and painting.  I've recently tried my hand at throwing pottery at a friend's place and loved it.  I've tried to learn how to knit....sadly, I'm just not the knitting kind. But! I can work a Knifty Knitter knitting loom a little bit!  I like to try new things and am completely and utterly inspired by the amazing talent here on Craftster.
I craft and create because I don't want what everyone else out there already has.  If it's popular and everyone has one...I don't want it.  If it's popular and everyone watches it on TV....I don't care to see it.  If it's popular and everyone likes it...I don't like it.  I am unique.  I like to have unique stuff.
I have no allergies or extreme dislikes.  I have one fat cat, one old beagle and one scruffy mutt.  In addition to that we live on a hobby farm with chickens, show pigeons and several beehives.
I love the Beatles.  Ringo is my guy. My favorite songs are "Here Comes the Sun" and "Good Day Sunshine."
I am heavily involved in Community Theatre. On stage, behind stage and in the audience.  This summer's production?  "Chicago"!  Squeee!  Seriously....SQUUEEE!
My favorite colors are limey-pistachio green (but not neon green) and yellow. And girly pink. And jet black. And purple...  I guess I love all colors. Well....except for puce.  The name of it just turns me right off.
We just redecorated our kitchen this winter and it's a denim blue with sky blue cabinets with light pistachio green accents.  Would love to see some wall art to hang in there. Something fun and kitchy.
We like to ride bike: both motorcycle (Harley) and the pedal kind. We go camping in the summer but we don't rough it, we've got a 23 foot travel trailer.  I like to garden but mostly with flowers.
Oh. One more thing.  Quilters!  I work in the town where Thimbleberries is headquartered!  I've never met Lynnette Jensen....but they've got one fine quilt shop here. Real fine.

Anything made from beeswax: lip balm, creams, whatever...
Handmade soaps.....any girly scent works for me.
Poly clay crafts...beaded jewlery, pendants, earrings (pierced) figures...feel free to surprise and inspire me!
Kitchen Wall Art...colors of my kitchen are denim blue, sky blue with pisachio green accents.  All metal finishes are silver. Kitchy and fun but not bizarre.
Reusable shopping bags: Fun and funky colors...something that will make the lady (or man) at the checkout go "oohhh, cool bag!"
Watercolor paintings, flowers are best.
Any (I mean ANY) fused glass pieces....I don't have my own kiln....maybe someday I'll have one.
Lampworked beads
Crafty Supplies:
Jewelry making stuff: glass beads, silver wire, wire nippers.
Stained Glass: Feel free to destash on me. Big pieces/little pieces...I love stained glass!
Scalloped copper foil tape 5/16 inch.
Glass Frit: Any color
Fat quarters or Charm Packs: Batik fabrics and flannels, I keep hearing about this "Amy Butler" fabric....never seen it or had some (hint-hint)....
Roving and instructions or help on how to needle felt.
Vintage fabric:  50's or 60's.
Poly clay tools:  acrylic roller and flat cutter
Treats or eats from your region...What is your corner of the world known for?  (I'm from rural MN...that means wild rice, Old Dutch Potato Chips, lefse.)
Homemade jelly or jam
Recipes from your "Favorites" file.
Salt and Pepper shakers (I collect sets that makes me smile when I look at them, funny or humorous. My favorite Salt and Pepper set?  A set of false teeth.)
And it looks to me like I should start a wist.  I don't have one of those yet. That would helpful, wouldn't it? =o)
Any questions?  I'd be happy to clarify anything.
Thanks in advance for choosing me!
Wheee...this is gonna be a hoot, ain't it?

About Me

Hello! My name is Liana and I am 22 years old. I am currently studying at the University of Southern California for my master's in social work. I have an internship at a local non-profit, where I do case management for adults and older adults. I live with my boyfriend in Los Angeles and love sitting back on the couch with him while I knit and we watch tv together. Smiley

On to the list...

Cloth pads - please! I really would like them to have snapping wings or a good way to keep them secure.

Circle skirt in some really cute, girly fabric (like Amy Butler)

Pj pants - I love these, never feel like I can get enough.

Homemade soaps

Bath bombs

A weekender bag

Headbands in Amy Butler-ish fabric

A t-shirt with "Part Asian, 100% Hapa" stenciled on it

Tree of life necklace

A creative case or organizer for my circular needles

Handspun yarn See my wists for plenty of examples of what I like, though you can't really go wrong with bright colors. Smiley

Stitch markers

Anything wist-inspired: http://wists.com/yellowblanket

Thank you all in advance!

I claim musiclady for a wisty surprise and some alpaca yarn.

This is my 4th claim (3 sent, 3 received) and I am in the U.S. Here's a mini-bio with more info than you'll ever want.

I'm 33 and live in the lovely state of Michigan with my wonderful husband and our beagle, Snort. Snort's idea of the good life is eating, sleeping and eating her own poo. She's my fur-baby, and while we don't treat her like a human child, she is a member of our family.

I own an asphalt company along with my Dad and work about 70-80 hours a week in the summer, so I basically have no life, including crafting, from May through the end of October.

I'm a flittering crafter, I like to try everything once and the things I really enjoy, I keep up with. My current favorites are making jewelry, knitting and papercrafts, though I'm trying to get back into watercolors and really need to start using my pottery wheel again.

I like sarcastic wit and jokes that make you think, and I seem to be experiencing a renewed love for the '80s. Favorite tv show of all time is The Office and favorite movies are Real Genius (with a very young Val Kilmer) and the original Willy Wonka (c'mon, a movie all about candy!) Favorite colors are ocean-y colors (greens & blues & browns) and jewel tones (ruby, emerald, sapphire, etc.). Im also digging the black/white/grey combos lately.

I love anything to do with nature and waterfalls are my favorite places to check out. And my favorite food in the whole world is donuts. Best flavor explosion - a fresh, hot, plain cake donut, straight from the oven with a glass of apple cider. I dislike mean people, people who are stupid by choice, soy sauce, political campaigns, and having religion preached to me without an invitation.

Please feel free to look over my wists as I like everything on there, its updated, and wisty surprises are fun, fun, fun!!! Thank you so, so much to anyone who chooses me!

  • knit socks ankle or regular is fine (womens size 8.5 or 9) - thanks, onr!
  • amigurumi or needle-felted or felt hippopotamus - thanks, bsonlytoots!
  • amigurumi or needle-felted or felt cookie monster (actually, any of the old-school sesame street characters would be great and Ive even got free patterns listed on my wist!)
  • amigurumi or needle-felted or felt pelican
  • art yarn
  • Knit shrug/wrap - on the off-chance that someone is just itchin to do one, Ive got a few listed on my wist
  • handknit squares for a Craftster blanket I have to double-check the sizes Ive already gotten, but I think they were 4 square. Only request is that the yarn you use is machine washable.
  • Felted beads pretty flexible on colors and sizes, Id like to have a stash of these for art projects.
  • Funny, sarcastic cross stitches or embroideries (I can frame 'em) - I've got a couple on my wist, but feel free to just do something you think I'd like.
  • Embroidered pillowcases- For our master bedroom, colors are blues and greens. Some type of sea animals or theme would be awesome.

  • NEW - throw pillow cover - inspired by this, but any plant/tree/bird fabric is cool - http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=14541713
  • NEW - set of bookends - like these - http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=23258284
  • some type of overnight bag that has a number of pockets to hold misc. toiletries and stuff (Ive seen some Amy Butler ones, like the weekender bag, that are cute, but it doesnt necessarily have to be that involved or fancy unless you feel like it basic tote with interior pockets is fine by me. Oh, and it doesn't have to be fancy fabric, either.)
  • Placemats (set of 2, 4 or 6) - though Im loving the log cabin look, anything would be sweet. My kitchen colors are sage green and burgundy
  • Napkins - (matching or coordinating sets of 2, 4 or 6) kitchen colors are sage green and burgundy - thanks, frosty772!
  • Pair of Strawberry Shortcake, Super Mario, Smurfs or PacMan long pajama pants or pajama shorts (any type of fabric is fine, PM for measurements but I wear a Nick and Noras size large if that helps)
  • Jacket/Sweater/Sweatshirt for Snort I'd prefer something that has a neck band and belly wrap, rather than something I have to put her legs through. I can get you whatever measurements you need for this, but just for reference she's a 40lb beagle.

  • your artwork, whatever medium you like you can check my wist for inspiration (youll see I love a lot of whimsical pieces), but Ill love anything that isnt political, religious or deal with death. And I do have ample counter top display room, so it doesn't have to be a wall hanging piece of artwork.
  • inchies or ACEOs
  • Fun To Do lists - I love making To Do lists and would love sarcastic, funny, witty or pretty To Do List pads. (Or you can just paper punch a hole in them and tie them with a pretty ribbon.) Very flexible on this one, just make something you think I would like. And I'd prefer smaller to larger - probably nothing larger than half of an 8.5x11 sheet of paper.

  • silkscreened t-shirt with the phrase    neat-o mosquito (feel free to add a cool image if you have one) womens L or XL, 40 bust. I'm fine with the Hanes or Fruit of the Loom t-shirts that Walmart sells for about $4.50 in the men's section - size Large, please. - thanks, bsonlytoots!
  • t-shirt like this one that errka made for me last year that I have worn and washed so much the graphic is falling apart!  roughly a womens large or XL, 40 bust. I'm fine with the Hanes or Fruit of the Loom t-shirts that Walmart sells for about $4.50 in the men's section - size Large, please.   https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=155224.msg1545936#msg1545936

  • pretty suncatchers
  • NEW - a pet egg - like this beagle one - http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=20354767
  • Anything on the theme of 1950s Happy Homemaker with a twist (tongue-in-cheek kind of things) notepad, pendant, artwork, tote, t-shirt, whatever!
  • ANYTHING ON MY WISTS Im constantly adding new items and there's lots, lots, lots of small/medium items on there!

I like supplies, but am really trying to cut down on my stash, so please don't send me a supplies only package unless it's a single item that's medium sized all on its own. Thank you!
  • Weird or unique rubber or acrylic stamps. Zetti-type images, dancing animals, retro images, basically stuff you cant find at JoAnns (Ive got a few samples on my wists). Used is perfectly fine!
  • Random/unique/antique ephermera anything you think I might find amusing, intriguing, weird or otherwise useful.
  • Vintage/old keys The older and rustier, the better. Skeleton keys are awesome, but anything that looks old is terrific.
  • Rusty metal stuff Anything that I can use for altered art stuff, usually no bigger than a dollar bill or so.

  • Wade figurines
  • Broken watches
  • Broken bits of rhinestone jewelry
