So I am getting married in 2 months time, and my hens night is coming up shortly. We are dressing up for it, and I've always had my heart set on making a corset and skirt so this was the perfect time to try it. I've never actually sewed any clothing other than a simple no form dress in highschool (a good 11 years ago) We are going to a place called dracula's theater in Melbourne, Australia.

Its taken me about 3 weeks to get both corset and skirt finished. Skirt took about 3 days to do mainly working at night into the early hours of the morn, and the corset was a little longer due to running out of thread and injuring myself with some pins hehe.  The corset is fully boned, and I have used 4 layers of material in it to keep is sturdy as you can see from the size, im not a small girl Wink

I guess on with the show Smiley

Edit: I've added a sitting down shot, as all the ones my partner took standing up looking even stupider than this one heh

I love it!
The skirt is the most amazing thing and you will look fantastic at Dracula's.

I'm a fellow Aussie, but I live in China now. Man, I do miss Melbourne.

Have a great night!

These are absolutely beautiful.  I would have never attempted something like this for a first project! I love how the corset has a subtle heart shape on the front.  Amazing job!!

ETA: I would love to see some action shots as well~

and im SO jealous of your corset. i want to make one so bad. just to say that i was able to make one. i've yet to gather the courage (and materials) to make one. CONGRATS on yours, despite the suffering it took to finish it. the whole outfit looks awesome Smiley

Thank you everyone for your compliments Cheesy The skirt was a lot of fun to make, and feels unreal when you put it on. Making the hoop to go under it was fun too. I will get some action shots of it on in the next couple of days and also will pop a pic or two of it on on the night Cheesy

Wow!

I saw the corset and I'm thinking, that's pretty well done, nice shapely pillow.  Then I saw the skirt and I thought wow!  It's gorgeous!  You are going to be a standout.

Nice work!

PS Aussies rock!
