Longtime lurker finally posting.  You guys are so creative.  I'm always amazed at what you come up with!

DH collects vintage padlocks and I collect, well, anything. Grin  Ages ago I picked up a door to an Ikea hutch (discontinued, so no link) in the as-is.  99 cents!  Finally found a use for it.

I sanded off the door's finish then hit it with a couple of coats of dark gel stain.  Next I cut a piece of thin plywood to fit in the insert.  Covered the plywood in old encyclopedia pages about locks and keys and gel stained it.  Unfortunately I got turned around when mod-podging and put the pages on SIDEWAYS! Embarrassed  Oh well.  We'll just say it 'adds movement'.  Lastly I screwed the board to the door, added a bunch of cup hooks and hung it on the wall.  Not much of a project but it made the DH happy.  C&C welcome!
