So when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to make today, I was using stumbleupon and it brought me to Roald Dahl's website. Clearly it was a sign.

And so I made a Matilda! I love her. I used crayon tinting for the coloring which I like when doing illustrations like this. I'm very satisfied and probably the most proud of her.

My kids love Roald Dahl!  Your embroidery looks like it came right out of the book--good job.  What's "stumbleupon"?  It sounds like what I do walking through my kids' rooms, but much funner.

I haven't decided what to do with it yet. Either put it on a tote bag (I'm a teacher) or hang it up in my house, since my kids aren't old enough to read Dahl yet anyway.

Stumbleupon is a great tool for boredom! It's a toolbar that sends you to websites based on your likes/dislikes. You can go to stumbleupon.com to learn more, but I love it. It's great for when I'm completely bored. I find websites I might otherwise have never gone to.

This is great. Quentin Blake's artwork is so cool, and it translates really well into stitch.
Good work!

Eeek! I love her!! I used to read Matilda over and over again when I was younger (which is why my book is practically falling apart Roll Eyes) and I may have to try making one of these for myself!

Great work!

Oh wow !
I saw the thumbnail and recognized Quentin Blake's artwork, but couldn't place which Dahl book it was from (been forever since I read Matilda).

Excellent job!
