My best friend is turning 21.

She believes that 21st gifts should be special enough to keep forever, but she is sick of jewellery.

Any ideas??  I'm having a bit of a mental block.

She is into music, true crime novels, old films, led zeppelin, and she is training to be a primary teacher.

will you take me to gang practice? yis?

What about making the gift? Maybe like origami stars in a jar?

What if you did this but on each one wrote something nice about her, or a wish for her, or special quotes or something.  You could print out a sheet of them so she doesn't have to dismantle all the stars, but I think that would be worth keeping forever.

How much do you want to spend? What  crafts are you good at?

If she already has loads of jewellery, what about jewellery box, or some other memory box (for 21th birthday memorys for example).

Or you could buy her a beautiful pen, they even do engravings.

Then of course I would be really happy about a good and touching book, you know that sort that you love all your live, but finding something like that is really hard.

Can you paint or collage? Then a self crafted picture might be appreciated.

And if she (or her parents) have a garden, one of the longest lasting gifts is a tree, there are small ones and big, beautiful flowering and some with sweet fruit or interesting leaves, just chose one matching your friend. And even if she has no garden of her own and just a balcony, you could put a small tree in a pot and by the time it is too big for a large pot, she will plant it in her garden ( that is if she is the type that wants a garden later on).

Hope I could help.
