Wow, everything is gorgeous this week Smiley  I didn't spin much that is very interesting to look at.  These are all polypay and wensleydale blend two plys.  I kool aid dyed them after spinning.  They are all going to be part of a shawl which will either be hideously ugly or quirky and cute when it's finished Wink

I love Fiber Friday! I've had a crappy week and seeing all this beautiful handspun cheers me up.

One yarn this week:

Glamourous Garden Party
roving from the March shipment of the Rawfish Fiber Club
2.5 oz merino, icicle, banana fiber, sari silk, glitz, felted llama locks
wrapped in pink and green thread- my first time trying this technique

Wow!! So many pretties this week.  My mouth was almost drooling looking at all the fabulous yarns. I love them all.

This week I received my new (and first) drum carder.  (actually it came last Friday)  Needless to say I've been carding up a storm.  At first all I had in the house to card was some black&white mill ends from a grab bag.  I had about a pound of that stuff and it ranged in color from black, white and grey.  I also had a bit of deep navy blue and pink mill ends that I had dyed up.  But, it had gently felted, so I knew that it would need to go through the carder in order to be spun up nice.  I also had a gallon size bag filled with “scraps” from this last years spinning projects.  I ended up with sooo much grey based batts until all my new fibers arrived early this week.  When it arrived I started dyeing up a bunch of colors and then made some yummy batts.  I had promised myself that most of the batts that I made would be sold on Etsy.... well... so far I've broken that promise.  I just can't resist the urge to spin up those fluffy batts.  Add that to a sick kid this week and I've had plenty of time to sit with her and spin.  Wow... long story and babbling.  I guess it's on to the yarn!!

Top Left:  “Candlelight”  Carded Rambouilet combed top, wool, icicle, locks, and sari silks.  168 yrds thick n thin 3.8oz.
Top Right:  “Lollipop” Carded Hand dyed & Carded Wool Mill Ends 2 ply, 89yrds, 4oz Bulky
Bottom Left: “Monster House”  (2 skeins total) 2 ply Carded Hand dyed Wool Mill Ends Totaling 202yrds 6.90z Bulky
Bottom Right: “Fall Leaves”Kettle Dyed Superwash & Nylon (2 skeins total) 2 ply Worsted – Heavy Worsted 166 yrds, 6.2oz

Top Left: “Grey Surprise01” Random Carded Hand dyed Wool Mill Ends 136 yrds, 4.5 oz 2 ply Worsted – Bulky
Top Right: “Grey Surprise02” Random Carded Hand dyed Wool Mill Ends & Angelina 113 yrds. 2.9 oz  Worsted – Heavy Worsted
Bottom Left: “Starry Night” Carded Grey Mill Ends & Colorful Threads.  Plied w/ silver thread, beads, and little silver stars.  112 yrds, 3 oz, Worsted – Bulky
Bottom Right:  “Dark Denim”  Carded Hand dyed Wool Mill Ends (navy and deep yellow) 2 ply, 129 yrds, 4.7oz., Worsted - Bulky

My pride and joy of the week:  “Pond Waters”This yarn is the most consistent I've ever spun.  It's superwash and nylon. 184 yrds, 2ply, 5.3 oz and is a sport – worsted wt.  I think I'll be making some ankle socks with this one.  I just love it!!

Here's the yarn that kicked my ass!  515 yards, 4.75 oz - it's a Patchwork superwash wool yarn, made from about 8 or 9 different different rovings.  I'm going to make it into socks!

Everyone has been creating such spring inspired yarns! Everything looks so fresh  Smiley
craftycavy - I just love garden party. The wrapping thread gives it that extra dimension of awesome
the noodle princess - downtown is beautiful and aptly named.
Lufah - love your patchwork yarn. So rich!

I've not quite finished here.
I'm stetting the twist now, and adding on a few more silvery accents
but I had to photograph it for friday Wink

Oh my, A Phoenix Reborn is to die for!

I'm also liking Hippie Haze, Summer Orange Twist Yarns, OmniSilence's black and white and red, Fall Leaves, Grey Surprise01 and kicks ass by Lufah this week.

I have some more beauties to share this week courtesy of lapoli. I received some beautiful batts in the Random Swap from lapoli and then it was spin, spin, spin.

Brown with aqua and light blue locks spun up all lumpy bumpy.  Doesn't have a name but I'm lovin' the way it came out.

This one I'm calling Easter Surprise Party with lots of colors and silver tinsel.

And my personal favorite, I'll call Kopper Kettle, spun from some kettle dyed roving with black fibers in it.

Now off to think up a good project for this baby.

Ooohh, I LOVE copper kettle.  You know, if you need someone to take it off your hands. Roll Eyes  I also love the summer orange twists yarns.

Nothing for me this week, and probably not for a while (I'm sick with a million things to do that take priority over spinning).  I did want to share some amazing fiber I got from rlynn in the FOC second chance swap that I am majorly drooling over.

From Silver Sun Fibers:

From Fiber Optic Yarns (for the sake of this thread, ignore the cotton yarn):

I can't wait to see these spun up. Cheesy
