Kmac - Wow! That camp looks like too much fun! It may be a bit of a trip for me from Florida but I've definitely bookmarked it! Thanks!
phnxreign99 - Hurry up! I want to see!!! Cheesy

Pocketwatch - what a cool dotee. Is the body wrapped with fabric?

Astormorray - yours were too cute. I love your little owl!

I am so impressed by all the beautiful creations. It is cool to see what everyone comes up with.
Because I know everyone received their dotees from me I just wanted to show a group shot.

I wish it was clear, but you get the idea.
This one is a little better. This was for Ma Rut

and this one was for cowgirlz101

This was so fun I can't wait for the next round.  Grin

OMG the gourd Dotee is amazing!! And I totally heart the crocheted (knit?) ones. What cleaver ideas. And I love the lame'-ish fabric on the sunflower Dotee. It's so cheery!

I can't wait to see what my group comes up with!!

they're actually woven.  But, yeah, he's my favorite.  squee!  The little toesies!  I dunno where he came from, spicytaco is interested in monsters, and I... I just sketched him down, and that was that.  Cheesy

The gourd was quite an ingenious idea.  I also loved the way the woven ones were made.  I bet postal string would be a good no-stretch "yarn" to weave with as would sugar and cream cotton yarn.  All the Dotees are so wonderful. They are all unique in their own way.

I love him so much. His little toes are seed beads. So cute!

Off to finish mine. They'll be in the post tomorrow.

All my dotees have been received so here is the third one - a mermaid theme! She has an appliqued tail with lots of machine embroidery. I couched metallic thread for the hair - which was a hard job as the head had a mind of it's own!

So many wonderful dotees ... they are coming in so fast now, I can't keep up!  Love them all and would be honored to have any in my new soon-to-be dotee collection!

Here are some pics of my wonderful gourd dotee from kmac (with the distinction of being my first ever!) - of course, my pics are basically crappy (why bother putting a macro option on a camera if it doesn't work?!)

This little lady is Cerridwen, my favorite Goddess.  She has a strange and interesting myth attached to her - to make a long story short though, while chasing a boy named Gwion, they both did a little shapeshifting - and the pictures on my gourd are the animals Cerridwen turned herself into in pursuit of Gwion ... greyhound, otter, hawk and hen.

So beautifully thought out and personal ... love her - thanks kmac!!

Got this piece of shrinky dink ... had it for 25 years now.  It's moved to five states and one European country ... and I just know, someday ... SOMEDAY ... I WILL use it!
