Not sure what to call this, but I made it out of an old t-shirt with a huge superman S graphic and a basketball team graphic. It was hard to work around the images, but eventually i ended up with this--

It doesn't match with much since it's such a bright royal blue. I was thinking about maybe dying it navy so it would match more of my clothes? any thoughts?

also, any idea what to call it? it's not quite a shrug, not quite a shirt, not quite a jacket...

Whatever it is  Cheesy it's adorable. I'd stick with the color, but that cobalt blue is one of my faves.

Cropped cardigan is exactly what I'd call it. And wow, I really love this! Cheesy The color, while hard to coordinate with the rest of your wardrobe, is what makes it, so I say don't dye.

Did you just cut off the extra parts of the shirt and hem? I'm not asking for a full tutorial, but could you post a brief explanation of what you did?

love the color... I'm just wearing a cardigan of that bright blue Grin
I know this kind of cropped cardigan as "bolero" a Spanish word and it's a like a little jacket that a "torero" (bullfighter) wears, but now fashion just take it an put it long sleeves or anything you can imagine Tongue
nice work! Wink
the small pockets were part of the shirt???

Here is what I did-- I cut off the sleeves and then I cut off under the arm-holes from the front next to the graphic, all the way around the back and to the front on the other side of the graphic, so it was one big strip with a hem on the bottom. then I hemmed the sides of that strip. Next I cut some armholes. then I gathered the front parts at the shoulders and sewed those seams. after that I gathered the original sleeves at the top and sewed them into the armholes. next, I cut the part of the shirt that was under the graphic to make easy pockets since they still had the original hem. Then I sewed those pockets on and cut a curve in the back for my neck and hemmed it in place. i hope that makes some sense...
