Do you hand sew the felt on or do you machine sew it on. I just love how it looks.

I machine sew the felt on, I got the idea from this poppet I got in a swap:

I like to play around with the inner ear colour, I have some some heads that have pink inner ears, a green, a blue, and a grey in progress (in one of the dismembered poppet pictures). I personally like to try to match the inner ear colour with either the hair colour or the clothing colour (not really for this first poppet as much, though the inner ear colour is in the hair also).

Thanks! The fabric is velour, I originally wanted alova suede, but I find it impossible to get. I hated the velour at first, but now I love it, and would you believe that I got it for $4 a metre! And from each metre I can make about 8-poppets?!?

Do you know, this post has almost taken me from "poppets are fucking creepy, dude" to "oooh, I might add a poppet based on my favourite painting to my wishlist..." Almost. Not quite. But almost.

Well done you, great going :-D

HAHA! Thanks for the laugh, I completely understand, when I first saw a poppet I was like "what the heck?", but now I love them, completely (though my friends and family think that they are still creepy).

Well, if you ever decide to make one, beware their tiny voices.  They start talking to you, even though most of them do not have mouths. Wink What is your favorite painting?

I am just the opposite!  I would decorate them all day every day, I am not in love with the sewing part!
