Every time I say I threw pots, everyone who doesn't do pottery thinks I was actually at home throwing pots and pans around the house. It's not like I have a temper. Weird.

Anyway, I just started a pottery class! It's my first time since the one pot I threw in middle school about 20 years ago. I threw these five pots in the first class. Trimmed the bottoms in the second class. Glazed the pots with royal blue and sardonyx glaze in the third class. And I got to take them home this week! Who knew that where blue and sardonyx overlap it'd make light blue?!?!

So, here's what I brought home:

Props to you!  Your pots are beautiful.  I took a 12 week pottery class a couple of years ago and while I was fairly good at hand-building, I just never could get the hang of throwing on the wheel.  You did a great job!

those are beautiful! and the oddest thing ever. my mom dabbles in pottery, and she made some bowls that look so utterly similar (the glaze/shape/etc) that both my mother and i did TRIPLE takes! Cheesy

Those are really gorgeous!

Interested in personal swaps; offering knits for eco baby and mama items.

wow, i really love what happened to the glazes when they overlapped. we're doing some glaze mixing experimentation in my ceramics class now, and i'm finding the different effect you can achieve with the right combinations so fascinating!
