Yep I use a miter box. I mark my bar with a ruler then slice it with the muttered box. It doesn't slip around, the soap log is too heavy and the bottom of the muttered box is textured.

Stupid autocorrect. Also the mitre box has a ledge type thing to stay securely on the counter

Ah...so you mark each bar on the loaf instead of on the box.  Gotcha!  Smiley  I should probably just try a mitre box first and get a better straight cutter (mine is just one of those chop and scoop things and has a little bend to it!).
