I needed an excuse to sew up a new bag, because I was "in the mood"  Wink so I made a bag for my daughter to use for dance class.  She doesn't need much when she goes, just her shoes and a bottle of water, so I "designed" it for those two items.   I picked up the fabric from Walmart in the city over the weekend and I used a combination of tutorials on this site to get the final results, and I thank them all for their wonderful, clear instructions.  I used the following tutorials:

This tutorial for a coach bag: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=263673.0, this tutorial for the gusset/zipper part: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=85354.0 and this tutorial for the "bottle pocket", but I put mine inside the bag rather than outside: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=191374.0

Thanks for looking

Thanks everyone for your kind words!  I'm currently working on another bag for my daughter's friend, one for her birthday.  I'm hoping to incorporate other tutorials on here to also do a wallet, kleenex cozy and cosmetic bag to put in the purse.  I'm really in a sewing frenzy at the moment, luckily for her (assuming it turns out that is).

It's so cute, and practical. I love the bright colors. They are so cheery!

I love that you put the water bottle pocket on the inside of the bag, especially for kids. It probably keeps it cold longer and adds some security. Just have her make sure the cap's on tightly. I know those leather shoes are expensive.

The construction is excellent, and the zipper pull is a great touch. Fabulous! Grin

Here's a quick shot of the stuff I made for my daughter's friend.  A purse like the one in this post, but bigger, a cosmetic bag based on queenofdiy's tutorial here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=176509.0, a wallet based on a tutorial here (modified slightly):  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=237259.0 and a kleenex cozy from a tutorial found here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=215629.0.  Thanks so much to those who posted the tutorials, they are great and very inspirational!
