I made this in the summer, and finished it right before Christmas.  I wore it to the ballet and out to dinner, and hope I get many more chances to wear it out again.

I modified New Look 6589, I followed instructions for the lace bit from a Thread's magazine this summer.

The back fastens with an elegant jeweled button.

This looks a bit saucy, but i couldn't get a photo with enough contrast of the lining any other way.

It makes me feel so pretty.  It is of all silk charmeuse, black, princess seamed, with a lace detailing at the top.  It's fully lined with a layer of tulle at the bottom to make the skirt-which is actually an empire waisted tulip skirt, I don't know if you can tell- stick out a bit.

I can't wait to wear it again!!

It's very pretty and it makes you look quite regal. Perfect for the ballet!

Whoa!  That is pretty cool.  That one does look nice.  I love a bit of lace like that.
