Oooh, I like masks.

Maybe wood? A challenge involving something with woodworking, woodburning, painting on wood, or other wood project.

It would be kind of fun to have "Iron Crafter" style challenges, though I don't know if this is where it would go. Give an object, and then have everyone make a craft that uses/incorporates it in some way (rather than a craft *about* it). Something random, easily accessible, perhaps available at thrift stores on the like; for example, "Hair Dryer" or "Garden Gnome".

'Who are YOU?' said the caterpillar.

'I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'

altruism expressed in either using completely recycled stuff (altruistic to the planet) or for a charity or for someone in need, or simply something that expresses the idea of altrusim.

I think our planet and the economic woes have made us all fearful for ourselves and our futures. I think that makes us tend to raise the drawbridge around ourselves and our nearest and dearests. I reckon that thinking of community and how we can change the world for the better, more equitable sharing of resources etc...is the way to ensure a good future for us all. So perhaps thinking altruistically might be a start

I would love a personal swap with you.

Is anyone interested in a Pocket-sized Tin 'Centering Shrine' Challenge?

Obviously the holidays are placing enough pressure on us all, and this is probably a terrible time to begin a challenge, but it might be a nice, contained project (yeah, the pun was initially accidental, but was left in intentionally) and could serve as a vent for the stress of the season... a shrine could serve as a reminder of what you truly value and help you resist succumbing to the chaos around you - a sort of visual/tactile mantra to get you through to the end of the year?)

Basically I am trying to suggest a pocket-sized shrine dedicated to the things you value and wish to keep in the front of your thoughts as you battle the holiday chaos, rush around, craft your fingers to the bones, and interact with loved ones in higher doses than usual. Just a small something to help you remember to stop and breathe.

What a fun idea!!! Iron Craft... with a specific craft "ingredient" to incorporate into a project. I like it!

Maybe a challenge like "save the works of bygone crafters"? Everytime I visit a secondhand shop, I see lots of beautiful things, mostly embroidery, but also crocheting, painting, woodwork and so on. But they are mostly things I don't use in my home, like table-runners and dollies, or they look way to outdated. But maybe we could re-pourpose them? I have seen someone, who makes lovely bags of embroidered pillows:http://www.tulipanerogtomater.dk/?id=266517 , but maybe there are other ideas?

How about a "stuff-that-roadkill" challenge?

I'm kidding, of course.
I actually enjoy the "iron crafter" and art doll idea a lot. I'd even say I'm more inclined to go with art doll. I'd love to try my hand at "toy" creation!
