I'm SUPPOSED to be working on a twelve page research paper, 6 pages of which i have completed but I just keep getting sucked back into craftster.

I made this simple lap desk that I love. It could have been executed better, but the print is so cute and Ive been wanting one for ages.

Its basically just an old canvas that was discarded at school covered with sock monkey fabric, I made a square pillow slightly smaller than the board and hot glued it to the bottom, it works great!

and I made a little pin cushion because I really needed one out of an old container that used to hold coty airspun face powder.
with this:

fabric I got out of the free box at the legacy (a little fabric shop in my town that gets a bunch of donations and puts the smaller scraps in the free box, which I pilfer often hehe, I buy from them too! I do!)

the cute top I use for bobby pins  Wink

Very cute!  I love sock monkies, so yay for that!
And I like the pin cushion too.  I've got one that doens't make me happy, maybe I'll borrow your idea.  Cheesy
It's cool that you've got a store that gives away scraps...no one here does that.

Yeah it's like a donation store that gives all its proceeds to the local senior center, and its run by all little old ladies too! Oooh I love it its so amazingly cheap, I get all my crafting things there, I'll just bring a bunch of quarters and get two yards of fabric for like a dollar!

also, strangely enough, I am doing exactly what you are. trying to write a 6 page paper, of which I have half of the outline done(outine was required)...because I keep getting sucked into craftster. lol. i know exactly hw you feel. the other day i stopped doing homework to carve a very intricate damask stamp i intend to paint my living room wall with.  Wink

Good use of scraps.  Very nice.
