Love the bunnies

When my first husband left, my kids were 3 and 1. I was still nursing the second one and it was a total shock when he left after 1 years of happy and no indication. I got terribly depressed and fairly angry. I took care of my kids but yelled a lot and scared them quite a bit at times. I was in control, but I had no one. That was 18 years ago.

Now I donate these baby bunnies made out of recycled sweater sleeves to people I know who work directly with moms in crisis, at-risk for being terribly alone and turning their fear and anger and hopelessness on their children, whom they love very much.

I just wanted to show you guys. In southern Arizona, it's hard to find wool sweaters in particular to felt and use. If you have any to contribute great. If not, no worries.

I give these to people I know in 3 states who give one to a mom, make a personal and lasting relationship as long as the mom needs her/him. It's not just a giveaway or empty gift. It's the start of a relationship.

Maybe you can use a similar idea if you want to make something for a care worker or to give out to women who show up at shelters or something.

That is a really beautiful thing you do. Being a single mom, whose husband walked out when I had a 6, 4 and one on the way, I thank you for your beautiful spirit!  Much love!

Adorable bunnies, and the thoughts and message behind them is incredible. Thank you so much for being so awesome!

This is so wonderful. I work for a domestic violence criris line and plan on sharing this with co-workers and shelters.
