This is Daft Wullie, a Nac Mac Feegle from Terry Pratchett's Tiffany Aching book series set in his awesome Discworld. He was made for the January 2009 Discworld Hub to Rim swap and is now living with ChrisSews along with his pal, Horace the Cheese (a pincushion covered in yellow crochet).

He used, once again, one of my crocheted Sackboy bases, this time in light blue Sugar 'n' Creme cotton yarn with Red Heart Soft hair in Paprika. His improvised kilt uses the fabulous shell stitch that I learned on the fly from the Stitch n' Bitch Crochet/Happy Hooker book. This was my first foray into attaching non-crocheted hair to a doll, and I was having fits trying to make Wullie look less like a girl once I had the braids on until I looked at the reference photos of the character a bit more closely and realized that he needed a goatee! Once those little tufts went on, I felt a lot better about Wullie's masculinity.

Here is a diagram showing how I did his hair:

And here he is bare nekkid before I put all of the extras on!

That pic of Daft Wullie riding your cat explains so much...

Wullie tried to ride my my cat, Baxter, when he arrived here in his new home.

Unfortunately, Baxter didn't care for being ridden.

Don't worry Daft Wullie escaped and is hanging out on top of my bookshelf.  I think he is just waiting for the right time to drop down on Baxter and take his revenge.
