I saw this pattern in the quilt shop and of course was too cheap to buy it (it was amy butler) so I took the measurements of the bag and finally tried it out today. Not sure why I did it in the batik, but I really liked the earth tones. It is big, 17" wide X 14" high, with a long drop on the straps.

I am thinking about doing it with a pleat in the center next time and maybe a button.

its lovely! ive had a go at batik and loved it but it all looked so child like , yours is amazing!! makes me want to have another go!

Oh,that's beautiful!  I loooove batik fabrics, I'd love to try and make my own.

That's a great bag. Bows aren'tmy thing, but the style and the fabric choice is great. Nice job adapting it too. Very professional loking result.

If you go with the more subdued batiks, you can get the most elegant looking designs. Here's some pouches made from batiks.
