I'm moving to Lexington this week...some crafty friends would be awesome!

Better to be hated for who you are, then loved for who you're not.

The only really crafty thing I do is knitting, and while the Stitch Niche is my favorite, there are 2 other ones, Knit 1 Purl 1 and Stone's Throw. I don't care for Knit 1 Purl 1 but that's a whole other post.  The owner is nice and they do have a lot of European yarns.  Stone's Throw is in Georgetown which isn't far from where  I live but 25-30 minutes from other parts of Lex.  It's a small shop that only carries Brown Sheep, Crystal Palace, Patons, and a couple of other things but they are very nice and helpful.

Could you (or anyone else who knows) give me an idea of where Knit 1 Purl 1 and Stone's Throw are located? I tried to look Knit 1 Purl 1 up in the phone book, but no luck, and I don't have a Georgetown phone book. I know you say you don't like Knit 1 Purl 1 but I'd like to check it out for myself anyway. I love the Stitch Niche!

And for you guys talking about Paisley Peacock...did you know it closed? According to the sign on the door, they're getting evicted for not paying rent.

Knit1Purl1 is on Patchen Drive, off of Richmond Rd a couple of lights past the Circle.  It's in the white 2 story building with several little shops in it.  The building forms almost like a horseshoe shape, and it's in the middle.  It's a tiny little shop.

Stones Throw is in Georgetown.  If you're familiar with the courthouse, it's right up from that.  It's along one of the main roads in downtown. It's easy to miss because it's in the basement of another shop.

They have a website

Hope this helps!

BTW, I need to retract my Knit1Purl1 comment.  I've had a couple of great experiences in there lately though it was a bit intimidating when I first started knitting. I was in a couple of weeks ago to buy the fall/winter issue of Rebecca.

I went to Paisly Peacock the other day and they were closed down due to some like unpayment, rent, w.e.  So cry! no more awsome bead niche!

Anyone want to swap ATCs?
Visit my shop!

Thanks legallyblonde! Stone's Throw looks like a neat place, worth a trip to Georgetown!
