Damn you for being so easy-going...

Since I was 6 years old, I've watched this movie at least once a week.  My grandma introduced it to me and my sisters and we used to watch it every weekend at her house.  I am trying to share it with my five-year-old nephew (however WoW seems to spark his little interest more.)

If you ever find yourself quoting Inigo, Fezzik, Vizzini, Westley, Buttercup, Prince Humperdinck, Miracle Max, the Albino, Count Rugen...
...or (my favorite) - the Hag:  "Rubbish!  Filth!  Slime!  Muck!  Boo!"

If you pretend to swordfight

If you name pets after the characters

If you love the sarcasm

If you've ever taken the time to read the book (which is just as good - and the "Pit of Despair" is actually the 7-leveled "Zoo of Death")

If you love Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, Andre the Giant, Wallace Shawn, Chris Sarandon, Christopher Guest, Carol Kane, or Peter Cook and watch their movies just because you loved them in this

If you are asked to imitate the "Impressive Clergyman" at weddings

If you've ever recited the entire movie to yourself just to get through another boring day at work (even though talking out loud to yourself makes you look crazy)

...this swap is perfect for you.

There is such a huge variety of things that can be created using this movie and book as inspiration.

I love everything about this movie and I have never been able to get tired of it.
I know it has touched a lot of other people who shared it with their parents or grandparents and now share it with the children in their lives.

My 5-yr-old nephew about his Timmy Turner & Fairly Oddparents costumes:
"Where'd you get these costumes?"
"I made them. You're Aunt Lulu is crafty."
"No, you're an artist."

I absolutely love the Princess Bride, but why does it seem like all the ones I would like to participate in happen all around the same time! Anyways, I think this is a great idea and if you have a lot of interest I hope there will be more rounds in the future (or perhaps a later starting date?).

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for sure!

This sounds awesome, but I agree with Wyked about a possible later starting date.  Too many cool ones starting right now!

I would *love* to do this!  The Princess Bride in my favorite movie of all time!  When are you looking to do it?  I'm not allowing myself to do any more swaps until March...  :-(

Plus I'm attempting to organize an Outlander/Diana Gabaldon swap at that time... if I can get any more people interested.

I think March would be a perfect time and would help garner a bit more interest too...hopefully. I should be done with my first swap by then so it would be great!

I've barely started my first one and already think I'm going to be a swap addict...tee hee.

my dh's favorite movie of all time. We quote the lines back and forth to the consternation of our friends and relatives who haven't seen the movie...even the kids join in  Grin

I'm even sending a Dread Pirate Roberts action figure to our dd at college for her birthday (though maybe I'll send it for Valentine's Day).

I could really get into this swap!

I love this movie! It ranks just under Labyrinth (sorry but David Bowie as the Goblin King = major hotness factor). When exactly would you be planning sign ups?
