I participated in the Lap Quilt Swap https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=254966.0 this Summer/Fall.  I was gifted a ton of gorgeous Christmas fabrics by an aunt who decided she was not going to use it.  So I sent out some lovely blue and white fabrics and received 11 lovely squares in return.  I made 2 of my own and then pieced this top. (I made the top middle and bottom left squares.)

I did a pieced back because my backing fabric was not wide enough plus I had an extra square.  Also I had been wanting to try one out, I had been seeing them and really liked the look.

I was unsure about the white binding because I normally do a darker binding.  But I love how it turned out.  Thank you (!!!) to my swap partners:  athenamat, audrey1999, flashleyashley, 1boy1girl1kitty2, MissDisney, j_q_adams, Glittergirl94, ritapizza, SewHelpMe, Jenicat
I love everything you gals and guy made for me!

BTW- When I was quilting it I kept having major problems!  You can see it here:

Anyone know why this was happening?  I kept adjusting my tension but it would still freak out every once in awhile.

That turned out awesome! I'm so over the red/green Christmas stuff and I'm loving your white/blue scheme. The pieced backing is really nice, as well. I'm in the process of putting the sashing on my apple quilt from this round also, and I'm going to do a pieced back as well. How exciting to be seeing finished quilts from the swap!
As for the problems with the quilting...I'm no help there! I'm still pretty new at it.

I'm working on getting my blog up, check it out! Smiley

This is a really nice quilt!  I love all the different blocks.  Is that snowman pieced or appliqued on?  I really like how the back on the quilt turned out.  Great job!  Grin

Great job!  I remember seeing those squares in the gallery and it's so nice now to see them all together.

As for the problem on the back, the only time I've had the problem is if I somehow got my sewing machine threaded wrong - then it wasn't an issue with the tension or bobbin thread but the top one.  I just re-thread my machine and it goes away.

Very nice quilt!

See if you can fix the problem by re-threading everything (top and bobbin threads) also make sure your needle is secured correctly. If you have a regular bobbin (not drop in) try taking the shuttle out and putting it back in, sometimes they aren't sitting in there correctly.
