Hello!   Cheesy

This is a wire crochet necklace I made the other day while teaching a Wire Crochet class!

I used 28ga Artistic Wire in Non-Tarnish Silver, kyanite beads, two shades of freshwater pearls (silver and dark blue), Swarovski crystals in Dark Sapphire, sterling silver rondells, and some recycled African glass.

Nothing complicated - simple chains with beads added in, then braided them all together!

Here's a close-up of the beads:

Here's a close-up of the cones and clasp:

Please let me know what you think!  Smiley  Sorry for the photo quality, the sun is in the process of going down and I ran outside in the 25 degree weather to get a more decent pic than my fluorescent lights would have given inside.   Cheesy

Thanks for looking!

OOh so pretty. I dabbled in wire crocheting and got addicted. It's so fun. Very nice piece.

Thank you!  Smiley  It is nice to get paid to make it, too... hehe.  Like I said, it's just simple chain stitches and beads but they work up really nicely and always look fun in the end.  I love teaching the class because no matter what beads my students use, their necklaces always look great.

I adore wire crochet (since it covers 2 crafts that I cannot do LOL)
This necklace has such a wonderful ocean feel too it.

Aw, thanks!   Cheesy

What a surprise to see you in this thread.  Hmm...  Grin

I got the ocean vibe too and I think I feel that way because of the grass shadows in the photo, for some reason.  The sun setting, too.  The color of the light reminds me of the beach.

Edit:  this is my 2000th post!  Holy cow.

I love it! I tried crocheted wire jewlery once a long time ago and my attempt was not nearly so beautiful!

Wow! Just stumbled on this thread b/c I thought the pic was gorgeous! I don't crochet and wire hates me but that necklace is just plain awesome! The finished product melds so well to be simple and intricate at the same time. I wanna take your class!

Thanks!  Smiley  It's a lot of fun to teach and like I said, everyone's finished necklaces always look wonderful!  It's a really basic chain stitch, which is the foundation of every crochet project.  If you can do the chain stitch, you can easily complete this necklace.

I used to hate crochet and never learned to actually crochet until long AFTER I started teaching this class!
