First off I have to say, all of the quilts in this category make mine feel like a two year old made it. I am really not much of a sewer, seamstress, whatever, but I had this idea to make a quilt for a friend of my hubby and his wife who are expecting thier first baby. The friend plays in the the band, The Dwarves, and I had a silk screened back patch (meant for putting on a jacket) so I decided to use that as the center and they dont know what they are having (by choice, I hate it when people do that) anywho, so I hope this looks pretty gender neutral.

It measures aprox 38x38 inches, I messed up on the frame around the patch, one side is narrower than the others. It is backed with black quilt backing (and yes, my fabric store actually had black)
what do you think?

excellent... gender neutral and they say (who they are still confounds me) that babies respond to high contrasts in black, white and red and it aids in neural development.  so not only is this a cool personal baby gift but an educational one too.

Hahahaha I loooove that you chose the skull and crosspenis logo for a baby's quilt (although, it would be hard to find any "wholesome" Dwarves brand, hehe). The Dwarves are a GREAT band. And I am jealous that you have a friend in the band. I met them at one of their shows in Detroit, Blag was super nice but I had He Who Cannot be Named's (guitarist) balls in my face the whole concert because his speedo's are apparently far too small.
Anyway, the quilt looks great, even pretty! I'm sure they'll love it =)

we know the whole band pretty well (my hubby has been touring with them doing video stuff for the past few years, he is in LA with them tonight), this is for Marc, who played guitar for a long time with them. Thanks for the positives, I hope they like it too.
