Happy fiber friday!  Smiley

I wanted to post these two yarn the last two Fridays but I forgot...
Now, here they are:

icecream, spun as a birthday present for a friend

pierrot, which I have already knitted up into a hat

The are both spun from loop baby cakes and were a lot of fun to spin!

Can't wait to see your yarns for this week!

Yay happy Fiber Friday! I like your Icecream.
I got to dye Patons classic Merino this week with kool-aid. Figured i'd start out easy and build my self up.
It's no Icecream or Pierrot but its my first hand-dye job.

I call it Bubbleyummy

Close up

This was fun for my first time and already have a ton of ideas for my 2nd, 3rd and 4th hand-dye projects.
Happy Fiber Friday everyone!

I love that kool aid dyed yarn.  It is gorgeous and one of my absolute fave color combos.

I love both your yarns LizzieMcGuire.  It would be great to see a picture of the hat you made.

*sigh* no yarns this week.  It may be two weeks before you see some.  I have a lot of non spinning projects to do and one spinning project I have to get done for a swap.  Oooh.  Maybe tonight I'll take a picture of my new drop spindle.  Over all it seems to be working better.  You'll then get a sneak peak at one of my yarns.  I like my new drop spindle, it is a little funky looking. Smiley  Working on a drop spindle can be a little exhausting, but I need to finish my one yarn this weekend ASAP, because it will take time to dry.

Happy New Year everyone!! I've been on a corespinning kick.. and a mohair kick.. so combined that's lots of fun!! LOL!!  I haven't posted in a bunch of weeks.. so here's some of what I've been working on..

This is one of my fave yarns!!  It's uncarded merino and mohair, dyed in the same pot.. with angelina for sparkle.. I corespun it, sections of merino, then mohair.. merino and mohair.. so it will stripe fibers.. but since it was dyed in the same pot.. the colors will be the same throughout.
Storms Brewing, 34 yards (4 oz)

This is a corespun Loop batt, I let an irridecent filament thread wrap around the outside..
Sweetheart Roses, 126 yards

This is roving balls from Yarnzombie (Lufah) that I corespun! I love them!!
When the Circus Comes to Town, 174 yards

Corespun Loop babycakes (mini batts) this one will stripe when worked
Caramel Berry Swirl, 56 yards

Fun bright yarn from trade batts, I spun thick and thin with a lurex holosparkle thread candystriping
Atomic Explosion, 126 yards

Snow Day, from this month's ArtClub monthly shipment, spun thick and thin, plied with a silver lurex holosparkle thread, 50 yards

Sweetness, corespun and tailspun mohair locks, 24 yards

I carded up a batt of baby chocolate alpaca, with bit of colorful bing and bobs..
then I corespun it *suprise!!*  LOL!!
Fireworks, 50 yards

I did a really fun trade with Deb's Fiber Arts.. she sent me an amazing felting, I spun some yarns for her from stuff she also sent me.. fiber, fabric and locks, a silk cap (I made cocoons), sari silk, yarn snippets and banana silk.  All are corespun....

Happy weekend everyone!!

Happy Fiber Friday!
Sigh.  I have gotten almost NO spinning done this week.  Every day I carve out a little chunk of time for it, but other things just keep popping in.  Bleh.  At least it is the weekend now (well, almost)!
But I did get some done, and a bit of dyeing.

First is a ball of yarn (126 yds, merino) that I spun half on my wheel, and half on my new drop spindle.  Since I don't really have the hang of the drop spindle yet, it's kinda screwy, so I'm just keeping it.  It's one of my favorite colorways, though, so its okay.

Also, I tried to put too much on the ball winder, so it's extra screwy.

The next is my first attempt at kettle dyeing.  Let's just say that it didn't go as I intended it.

The next is one of my favorite color combinations.  Mmmm green.

This one is actually three different pieces I did as a set- 6 oz. alltogether; I don't know how I'm going to spin it yet.

As usual, Jazzturtle, your creations are amazing.  Great colors!

v3nu5, I like the effect you got with the Wilton's.  I used to use Wilton's, but I could never get it to look that pretty.

LizzieMcGuire, I LOVE the second yarn you have.  Lovely.

please excuse her for the day, its just the way the medication makes her...

jazzturtle - I LOVE Caramel Berry Swirl!  Yummy.  Though they are all great!

I've been drooling over fiber Fridays for months.  Now, I am working on my first spinning for next fiber Friday!  I love how its turning out but I need to set the twist before I feel comfortable to show my newbie spinning.

Bring on the goodies!

I love the different color combinations and textures that you use/achieve. Excellent work.

Ok I  bought this rickety antique spinning wheel off ebay several months ago. I finally got it working, well sort off I think I need a new whorl as it worn in the middle and doesn't grip properly.
Anyway Here is my first yarn.
100% Shetland Dyed with food colouring.
