March's hat is done!  This one was made using Bev's Bumpy Hat pattern found at: http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/bevs-bumpy-hat.html

(Sorry the picture came out dark/yellow ~ I'll take a better picture when it is light out!)
I loved this little pattern... it was pretty quick to work up (3 episodes of the Simpsons that were DVR'd, LOL) and I love, love, love the little bumps. What a fun texture!

I made a fifth hat now too... I had just enough left of that last ball of baby yarn to make this one.

I made this hat:
with the flower toppers from here:

smrfchic...those new ones are too adorable!

Here's another preemie beanie that I made w/ a lil' bow...

I liked the yarn so much that I ended up making two more beanies for a newborn & 3 month old boys. (sorry this pic is dark) the other beanie was similar but opposite main/accent colors...I guess I never took a pic before giving that one away

I'd like to try a couple of new patterns now.
P.S. thanks for the pineapple comment  Smiley

Oh, I like those!  I need to go buy more soft yarn as I have used up all of my stash of leftover baby yarns, and maybe I will pick some darker, less pastel colors.
I have to pick out at least 9 more patterns to try for this challenge.  Part of my goal was to not only make at least 12 preemie hats, but to try using different patterns for each one.  So far I have 5 hats from 5 patterns, and this is only the 3rd month, LOL.  www.crochetpatterncentral.com has a whole section of preemie patterns!

www.savethechildren.org is the official website for the organization (i think...) so if anyone is having trouble finding a place to send their hats, look on this site!

Why hello there!

Your hats are so adorable.
I am a knitter and knit baby hats on and off...they are so much fun (and quick and easy)
I'm sure I'll have made 12 through the year.
What a wonderful goal!!

I saw your post a while back and thought what a neat idea you were onto. I was working on a scarf at the time but was left with just enough yarn to make one of the patterns you chose. I had to improvised with the ribbon for lack of one but once I find one that matches i'll be set.  Smiley One of my closest friend is having a baby in a couple of months and will be able to wear the very first baby hat I made.

Oh, I hope everyone continues this thread. I love to see al the adorable little hats. It makes me think of my baby's hat that we got from the hospital. The one I had made him was too big. But the one we got made him look like a little glowworm when he was all swaddled up. Thinking about that hat brings back memories of the 'turtle face'. Ahhhhhh. Thanks for all your work. Smiley
