How did you get the circle in the middle? I'm not extremely skilled with crochet, so I'm kind of curious about that one.

Hi Joujoudoll.  Sorry it took so long to reply.  For the circle, i just stopped crocheting on one side and picked back up on the other.  To shape it I made fewer crochets each row (either by stopping sooner or by single crocheting 2 together), and then increased to round out the top.  On the very top row, I chained in between the two sides for somewhere to anchor the next row up.  I'm not much of a pattern writer, so I hope that makes sense. Hehe.
