It looks like a soldered rhinestone piece, as far as I can tell. Very vintage in appearance.

You might be able to put something like it together with beading wire and rose montees (sew-in rhinestones with a metal back that you can pass thread or wire though). It will get expensive for the amount you'd need, though...

If you are after the sparkly choker effect, maybe you could use some aurora borealis Swarovski crystal bicones, and a beading pattern for a choker. I'll dig around the internet later on; I think I saw something like this in bicones somewhere. The link will likely be in french, if I can find it again.

I'm bookmarking this thread, and I'll see what I find this afternoon. Meanwhile someone else may have a useful link or more ideas... Smiley
