The potholders were done with Sugar and Cream cotton yarn in single crochet.  I graphed out a picture of the skull based on a friend's drawing, and changed colors.  I made two, and then single crocheted them around the edges so they'd be thicker.

About 3 months ago when I was in a thrift store with my mom I found this ropy sort of stuff that is used for Macrame' projects.  I figured I could do something with it.  It's pretty much the same pattern as the potholder skull except instead of just two colors, I used 3 because I didn't think I had enough white.

At some point I'd like to have curtains in flilet crochet with skulls on them, but I have a feeling that will take a long time and I will lose interest.

I have never felt compelled to comment before, but I have to tell you I love those.  I'm working on a hot pink purse for my 11 year old daughter, I'm going to unravel it a bit and start making that skull on it in some leftover black yarn I have.  Maybe if she sees that I can also make some cool stuff, she'll take an interest in crocheting? Maybe?

That is a really cool skull pattern! I like it alot.... I second the chart request.... and I really hope that Daisyduke's Daughter will become crafty! Dont worry, though, Daisy... When I was young, I had an irrational dislike for anything that was homemade.... but now I'm 24 and married, and I really love crocheting, I'm learning to knit, I have ambitions to sew my own clothes and quilt someday....  So If she doesnt get into it now, she might later! : )
